Accomplishments

• Designed the process to handle large numbers of value changes in a short amount of time to properties damaged or destroyed by natural disaster. This process was used for Waldo Canyon and Black Forest fires, flooding along Ute Pass and in Manitou Springs, and for landslide damaged properties.
• First ad valorem appraiser in El Paso County, and one of the first in the state, to obtain a Certified General License under new standards that placed ad valorem license requirements in line with those for fee appraisers.
• Improved efficiency for appraisal sketches on new homes.
• Transitioned Land Section from using paper maps to a Geographic Information System.
• Took responsibility for compiling annual audit data and ensuring compliance to include code updates.
• Discovered error in a vendor contract that prevented the county from wasting thousands of dollars.
• Created innovative mass appraisal approaches and implemented novel valuation models.
• Authored materials to improved staff training.
